Oil Spray Hole in connecting rod must face camshaft side of engine
Pistons should be fitted so that a 10 to 15 pound pull will be required to withdraw a .002 inch feeler gauge (.0025” feeler gauge on 4-ring pistons) from between the piston and cylinder wall.
Ring and End Caps should be .007” to .015”
Clearance between ring and grove should be .0015” to .002” in the top groove and .001” to .0015” in lower groove.
Pins should be fitted with a hard push fit in piston.
Rod bearing clearance should be .001” to .0025”
Main Bearing should be fitted with a clearance of .0005” to .003” when uniform wall bearings are used. When eccentric wall bearings are used, clearance should be .0005” to .0027” at the crown and from .0012” to .0034” at the parting
Crankshaft aend thrust is controlled by shims at the front main bearing and should be held to .004” to .006” at the parting.
