Piston & Ring Data-All Series


Piston Removal: From Below 8 cylinder Models and From Above on 6 Cylinder Models

Pistons should be fitted with a drag fit after being heated in boiling water: this is the equivalent to .002” skirt clearance

Ring and End Caps should be .007” to .015”

Clearance between ring and grove should be .0015” to .002” in the top groove and .001” to .0015” in lower groove.

Pins should be fitted with a thumb push fit in piston.

Rod bearing clearance should be .001” to .0025”


Main Bearings


Main Bearing should be fitted with a clearance of .001” to .003”

Crankshaft end thrust is taken on No 2 main bearing on all sixes and on No. 3 on eights. End play should be .004” to .008”.





Wheel Alignment Specifications


Caster:

All models except 822E: 1 to 2 degrees

Models 822E: 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 Degrees

Camber:

Models 518D, 618D, 618G 1-1/2 degrees

Models 822E, 915R and 922E: 1 degree

All other models: 1-1/4 degrees

Toe In: 1/16” All Models

Models 72, 73, 75, 90, & 90A: 2 to 3 degrees

Models 74, 80, 80A, & 85: 4 to 5 degrees
